Collection Concept 04

Hoodies and Sweatshirts

Comfort meets structure. How to choose, layer and style the pieces that carry a wardrobe through every season.

Everyday Versatility

The uniform of modern comfort

Few garments cross contexts like a good hoodie or sweatshirt.

Originally designed for athletes and workers who needed warmth and freedom of movement, these pieces became central to street culture, campus life and creative industries. Today they sit comfortably under tailored coats, over shirts and on their own — as relaxed or as sharp as the rest of the outfit.

The Kustom concept focuses on clean silhouettes, considered weight and the kind of understated detail that makes a basic feel premium.

Hoodies vs Sweatshirts

Know the difference

They share a fabric family, but small design differences change how they wear.

Hoodie

Hooded, casual, layer-friendly

Defined by an attached hood, often with a kangaroo pocket and drawcord. Pullover or zip-up. The hood adds visual weight around the neck, making hoodies ideal for layering under jackets and creating relaxed, street-ready proportions.

Sweatshirt

Crewneck, clean, adaptable

A collarless pullover with ribbed cuffs and hem. The open neckline makes it easy to layer over collared shirts and slightly dressier than a hoodie — a natural bridge between casual and smart-casual.

Hoodie Fits

Shape and proportion

Check shoulder drop, sleeve length, body width and where the rib hem sits. These define the silhouette more than the size label.

Fit 01

Classic

Standard shoulders, moderate body. Rib hem sits at the hip. Timeless and easy to layer under coats.

Fit 02

Relaxed / oversized

Dropped shoulders, roomy body and longer sleeves that stack at the cuff. The defining streetwear look.

Fit 03

Cropped boxy

Wide but shorter, ending at or above the waistband. Pairs well with high-rise and wide-leg trousers.

Fabric Comfort

Inside matters

Most hoodies and sweatshirts are knit from cotton or cotton blends, finished on the inside in one of two ways — and the difference is noticeable the moment you put one on.

Brushed fleece

Soft and warm

The interior loops are brushed into a fluffy surface that traps heat. Best for cold weather.

French terry

Breathable and structured

Flat on the outside with soft loops inside. Lighter, drier and ideal for layering or milder days.

Blends

Durable and shape-holding

Cotton-polyester mixes can resist shrinkage and pilling while keeping a soft hand-feel.

Seasonal Wardrobes

Four seasons, one hoodie

A well-chosen hoodie or sweatshirt adapts year-round when you change what surrounds it.

Spring

Light layers

French terry crewneck over a tee, with a light shell for showers.

Summer

Evenings only

A lightweight zip hoodie tied at the waist or thrown on after sunset.

Autumn

Peak season

Heavy hoodie under a chore coat or denim jacket, hood out.

Winter

Insulating mid layer

Brushed fleece under a puffer or wool coat; add a beanie.

Sweatshirt Styling & Casual Layering

Styling formulas

The fastest way to elevate a sweatshirt is contrast — pair the casual knit with a sharper piece.

Collar peek

Crewneck sweatshirt over an oxford shirt, collar out. Smart, relaxed and timeless.

Hood over coat

Hoodie under a long wool or tailored coat, hood laid over the collar — a streetwear staple.

Tonal sweatsuit

Matching top and bottom in one color, broken up by clean sneakers and a single accessory.

Hem play

Let a longer tee show beneath a cropped hoodie for depth and proportion.

Minimal & Oversized

Less detail, more presence

Minimal hoodies — no oversized logos, clean seams, a quality drawcord or none at all — read as more premium and stay in rotation longer. Oversized streetwear versions amplify presence through volume rather than decoration; keep the bottom half streamlined so the shape stays intentional.
